Salah satu teknologi canggih yang disematkan pada perangkat smartphone yakni NFC. NFC merupakan singkatan dari Near Field Communication. NFC merupakan salah satu teknologi canggih yang terkategori dalam sektor konektivitas. NFC bekerja dengan sistem transmisi sinyal radio jarak pendek. Ada dua jenis perangkat NFC yakni perangkat tag pasif dan perangkat tag NFC pada smartphone. Salah satu pengaplikasian teknologi NFC pada smartphone yakni sebagai pengganti dompet, kartu ATM atau kredit. Dengan adanya NFC pada smartphone, pengguna bisa melakukan pembayaran langsung dari smartphone-nya tanpa perlu membawa uang cash. Namun biasanya perangkat smartphone yang dibekali teknologi NFC ini dibanderol dengan harga yang cukup mahal. Tetapi tidak perlu khawatir, karena Samsung ternyata memiliki varian produk smartphone yang sudah mendukung NFC ini dan dijual dengan harga yang cukup murah yakni Rp 1-2 jutaan.
